Amenitiz acquires online training platform Ododo

Spain: Barcelona-based hotel management software Amenitiz has acquired French firm Ododo, an online training platform for hotel operators.

In April, Amenitiz raised more than €27 million in a Series A funding round. To date, the company has raised over €35 million from venture capitalists such as Eight Roads, Chalfen Ventures, Point-Nine, Backed and Otium Capital. 

Now, the group has purchased Ododo, an online tool for hoteliers to train their teams on direct booking strategies. As part of the acquisition, Ododo will launch a platform called The Hotel Club to provide its e-learning for free on topics such as revenue management, social media presence, online advertising, and more.

The Hotel Club is available to all hoteliers globally. In addition to the training courses, physical events will also be held regularly throughout Europe. 

Marc-Antoine de la Rüe du Can, founder of Ododo, will join the Amenitiz team as head of content. He said: “Helping independent hoteliers face the many challenges and pitfalls of our industry is a passion. When Alexandre asked me to join them in the Amenitiz adventure I saw an opportunity to help even more hoteliers. With the means at our disposal, we will revolutionise access to knowledge and know-how in an industry that sorely needs it.”
