now pause launches Take 5 campaign

UK: nowpause.org, a wellbeing initiative designed for the hospitality sector, has launched its Take 5 campaign to support hospitality reopening.

Take 5 is a set of five-minute podcasts designed specifically for use in pre-service briefings and team meetings, and created by wellbeing coach Andrew Johnson.

The podcasts form part of a larger initiative that offers free, practical self-care toolkits to help keep mental health in shape.

The project was initiated by Craig Prentice, founder of mum, a hospitality talent partner, at the beginning of lockdown. It’s been designed in collaboration with marketing freelancer Peter Kerwood and Johnson.

Speaking about the toll of the pandemic on mental health, Prentice said: “Whilst we’re all in the same boat, a lot of people feel very alone, and feel like they’re in a very unique situation. Every person I speak to has an experience completely unique to them.”

He added: “Take 5 offers accessible, bite-sized relaxation tools which can be used anytime in or out of the workplace when you simply want time out.”

The now pause initiative is supported by Hospitality Action, UKHospitality, and Umbrella Training among others.

Prentice’s company mum provides talent solutions for the lifestyle and luxury hospitality industry, working with hotels, private members clubs, venues and restaurants.
