The Netherlands: Amsterdam-based travel planner startup Stippl has secured €400,000 from investors including Volvo Capital and Clickpatrol.com.

Stippl, founded in 2021 by Luuk Verhoeven, Omar Sheshtawy, and Robin van Rijn, is a platform which enables users to create, organise, and amend travel itineraries. It is available via website and app.

The platform can be used to find and book accommodation on sites including Booking.com or Airbnb, as well as transport options. Stippl also recommends tourist activities, restaurants and more based on the chosen destination. This includes recommendations by other Stippl users, travel influencers, and blogs and articles.

During the planning stage, trips can be shared and synced with other users. Costs can be tracked within a user’s profile, and when multiple travellers are involved, can be automatically divided amongst the group.

The €400,000 funding will be used to support expansion in Europe, sign additional partnerships and develop new features.

Verhoeven said: “Stippl is unique in its combination of the social aspect of travelling, such as sharing and getting inspired, with the most user-friendly and powerful planning software. Our goal is to enable users to effortlessly create, track and share the perfect travel plans.”

Since its launch in 2022, Stippl has attracted thousands of users. The team aims to grow its consumer base to over 100,000 in 2023.
