Israel: A website has been launched following the opening of more than 20 boutique hotels in Tel Aviv in the last two years.
www.TelAvivBoutiqueHotels.com showcases “a selection of Tel Aviv‘s finest boutique hotels, many of which have been opened in restored Bauhaus and eclectic style buildings in the UNESCO World Heritage site White City”.
The site was launched “following the emergence of a niche in the Tel Aviv hotel industry occupied by boutique hotels”. Only one of the hotels featured on the website has been operating as a boutique hotel for longer than three years, and most of them have opened as new hotels in the past two years.
The site’s founders says: “The emergence of the boutique hotel scene in Tel Aviv corresponds to a time period during which the city has seen unparalleled levels of tourism, in particular with visitors from Europe and the USA who are making shorter visits, and choosing Tel Aviv as a city break at a time when tourism in Israel as a whole is at record breaking levels (2012 figures released by the Israel Ministry of Tourism show record numbers – 2.9 million tourists in the year). The opening of more low-cost flights from Europe have made Tel Aviv a possible and increasingly popular weekend break destination – most notably among these are easyJet from London, Manchester, Geneva, and Basel, Air Berlin from Berlin, Cologne, Dusseldorf, and Munich, and Vueling from Barcelona.”
www.TelAvivBoutiqueHotels.com aims to raise awareness of the boutique hotel scene in Tel Aviv and allow tourists to compare and read about the individual hotels that make up the city’s market. It provides users with the ability to compare hotels, read about their individual stories and themes, view images, hotel information, and book online.
