Ghana: Accra boutique hotel wins WTA prize
Villa Monticello, a 14-suite boutique hotel near Accra’s international airport, has won the Ghana’s best hotel for 2012 Award at the World Travel Awards, beating La Palm, Movenpick and the Labadi Beach Hotel to win the award.
The hotel has 14 “individually custom decorated luxury suites, some named after African greats such as Ghana’s first President Dr Kwame Nkrumah and Nelson Mandela”.
La Palm has won the award five times since 2004. Golden Tulip Accra and Novotel have both won it previously.
