Mark Lewis is the CEO of HotelREZ Hotels & Resorts. Mark started his career in travel working for Thomas Cook Foreign Money in the dealing room, after graduating from the University of Wales, he paused a career in law to work for a specialist Greek Tour Operator Manos Holidays working in locations such as Cyprus, Greece and Turkey, moving up the ranks to open new destinations and running operations in India, bringing the first air charter into Kerala.
After being offered a role to start up a luxury tour operator Five Star Group, founded by Sir Alan Sugar he later left for Pegasus Solutions (now Cendyn) where he was responsible for Global Sales across EMEA and ASPAC.
Mark started HotelREZ in 2004, creating one of the largest and highly awarded, hotel distribution consortia, as well as World Rainbow Hotels, the world’s only GDS-enabled consortia for the LGBTQ+ market. More recently acquiring Best Loved Hotels a highly respected British hospitality brand and opening his first owned luxury hotel in Mykonos, Greece.
Mark has built the group around the belief that revenue is vanity, profit is sanity and cash is king. He says that he’d like to be thought of as having created something special and to have delivered on the group’s promises to hotels, staff and investors - as well as having had a little fun on the journey.
