Qatar: Sonesta International Hotels has signed a contract with Qatari developer Al Madaen group to manage and operate its first boutique hotel in the Gulf.
The first phase of the Sonesta Hotel Doha, comprising 166 rooms and suites. will be completed before the end of 2012. By the end of 2014, capacity will reach 260 rooms and suites. The hotel is located in the heart of Doha city, in the Al Saad region, close to business centers, the downtown area and Doha International Airport.
Boston-based Sonesta has a portfolio of hotels across the US, South America and Egypt, and also runs Nile river cruises.
