Colombia: Starwood’s lifestyle brand W Hotels to launch in Usaquen district of Bogota.
The 168-room property will be designed by Studio Gaia, who are reportedly being inspired by the El Dorado legend, in which the indigenous Musica tribe from the pre-Colombian era would throw gold, emeralds and semi-precious stones into Guavita Lake as an offering to their god.
The W Bogota will feature a signature W Lounge, a restaurant and nightclub, an Away spa, fitness centre and meeting space.
It will be the first W property in Colombia, but sister brand Aloft Hotels is already operating a property near Bogota airport.
