Belgium: Rezidor Hotel Group and Italian fashion house Missoni have mutually agreed to scrap the license agreement for development and operation of the Hotel Missoni brand.
There are two hotels operating under the Missoni brand, in Edinburgh and Kuwait, both of which will cease using the brand name from June 30 2014. Both featured the fashion brand’s designs, with rooms, suites and facilities using distinctive Missoni textiles and fabrics.
In July 2012 Rezidor announced plans to open five more by spring 2015, in Belek, Turkey; Doha, Qatar; Ilha de Cajaiba, Brazil; Jebel Sifah, Oman and Baie du Cap, Mauritius. None of these properties came to fruition.
