UK: Foxhill Manor, a boutique hotel in the Cotswolds, has been named the best hotel in the UK just seven months after opening.
The eight-bedroom hotel near Broadway is on the same 400-acre private Farncombe estate as the boutique hotel and spa Dormy House and The Fish, the estate’s budget boutique offering and most recent opening. All three hotels were included in the Sunday Times Ultimate 100 British Hotels 2015 – Dormy House in the spa category and The Fish in the family section.
Steve Bleach, editor of The Sunday Times travel section and one of the judges, said: “Foxhill Manor is absolutely the most romantic hotel I have ever stayed in. It is worth every penny and is subtly, seductively different from any hotel I’ve stayed in before.”
Andrew Grahame, chief executive of Farncombe Estate, said: “This is a wonderful recognition for everyone involved in all three hotels across the estate and we could not be more thrilled. But a huge well done has to go to our outstanding Foxhill Manor team; their dedication and passion to provide the best possible levels of service for our guests. 2015 has been a great year for Foxhill Manor and for Farncombe and I am even more excited about all we have in store for 2016.”
Built in 1909, Foxhill Manor is a Grade II listed Arts and Crafts manor house, catering for a maximum of 16 guests.
