UK: SH Hotels & Resorts will open 1 Hotel Mayfair in early summer 2023, located on Berkeley Street overlooking London’s Green Park.
Set over nine storeys, 1 Hotel Mayfair will offer 181 guest rooms and suites, a main restaurant, coffee shop, two bars, a fitness centre, and a Bamford Wellness Spa. General manager Francois-Xavier Schoeffer will oversee the property.
As part of the hotel’s construction, more than 80 per cent of the existing structure was retained, holding on to around 4,200 tonnes of carbon. Recycled materials have been used throughout the hotel, including reclaimed metal floor tiles, solar panels, and green living walls.
Plants are a key feature of the sustainable property – more than 200 species can be found across the site, including moss walls in the guest rooms. Here, timber flooring from fallen trees on the Windsor Estate as well as Welsh slate bathroom vanities form part of the decor.
The Dovetale main restaurant led by two Michelin-starred chef Tom Sellers will serve seasonal produce from an à la carte menu. Adjacent to the ground-floor restaurant is a cocktail bar, whereas the Neighbours cafe will also transition into an evening bar.
Up on the first floor, the wellness space includes three spa treatment rooms.
When open, 1 Hotel Mayfair will become the UK and European flagship for the 1 Hotel brand.
