The Wallace, 100 Princes Street

UK: Family-owned collection Red Carnation Hotels has opened its first property in Scotland, 100 Princes Street located in Edinburgh city centre.

Plans for the 100 Princes Street were first revealed in July 2019.

Housed in the former headquarters of the Royal Overseas League, the hotel offers 30 ensuite rooms and suites, dining room, bar and lounge The Wallace, and private dining room Ghillie’s Pantry lined with more than 100 whiskies.

South African chef Willhelm Maree will oversee the hotel’s food and beverage offerings.

In the guest rooms, local artists have created custom-made furnishings, fabrics and artworks, including five tartans by Scottish designer Araminta Campbell.

Two signature suites The Archibald and The Isobel are named after the Scottish explorers Archibald Menzies and Isobel Wylie Hutchison.

Exclusively for its guests, the hotel also offers a collection of experiences designed to showcase the local area. Activities range from creating a personalised Scottish gin to fishing excursions on the River Tweed.

The team at 100 Princes Street will be led by resident manager Laura Jamieson.

Red Carnation Hotels is a collection of 17 properties located throughout EMEA. Most of its hotels are grouped in London with additional locations in Ireland, Guernsey, Switzerland and South Africa.
