Accor to launch hotel and hostel in Glasgow

Scotland: Accor will introduce two of its brands – Tribe, and JO&JOE – to the UK market next year, both debuting in Glasgow.

The group’s lifestyle brand Tribe was first launched in 2016. Accor described it as offering a “high-quality hotel experience at an affordable price,” with a “carefully curated offer that focuses on style rather than price.”

The Glasgow hotel will be the first in Europe as part of a ten-hotel expansion plan by 2022. Located in the city centre overlooking the River Clyde, the hotel will feature 290 guest rooms.

There is currently one Tribe already open in Perth, Australia. Signature facilities include bike rental, gyms, co-working and meeting spaces, and smart TVs.

Similarly, Accor’s JO&JOE brand also launched in 2016. It was described at the time as offering “the best of private-rental, hostel and hotel formats,” comprising “a vibrant living space, a home that is open to the external world and designed to meet the expectations of Millennials and all those who value sharing, spontaneity and experience.”

There are currently two of these branded properties operating in France, with other upcoming locations in Rome, Budapest and Rio de Janeiro.

Accor has revealed that a JO&JOE property is set to open in London, although details are yet to be released.
