Arora Group acquires Luton Hoo Hotel

Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa

UK: Elite Hotels has sold the Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa to The Arora Group for an undisclosed sum.

Located in Bedfordshire, the Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa is a five-star, 228-bedroom property. It features three restaurants with two AA Rosettes, 23 function rooms, a spa with gym and indoor pool, and a golf course designed by Sir Robert Adam.

All existing staff at the hotel will be retained by The Arora Group.

The sale will enable Elite Hotels to focus on the refurbishment plan for its three remaining properties: Ashdown Park Hotel and Country Club (East Sussex), Tylney Hall Hotel & Gardens (Hampshire), and The Grand Hotel (Eastbourne).

Graeme Bateman, managing director of Elite Hotels, said: “Naturally, we are sad to be parting company with Luton Hoo Hotel, but we do so in the knowledge that we have passed the custodianship of this wonderful property into safe hands. We wish Surinder Arora and his team at The Arora Group every success as they move Luton Hoo Hotel into a new era.

“May I also take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to Matthew Long, general manager, and all his team/colleagues at Luton Hoo Hotel for their personal commitment over the past 14-plus years. We will miss you all greatly as a former mainstay of the Elite family.

“As a company, Elite Hotels remains fully committed to ensuring a bright future for its three remaining properties. Each hotel will continue to benefit from the group’s ownership and a considerable investment programme. Details of our exciting plans will be announced in due course.”

All three Elite Hotels are members of Small Luxury Hotels which represents over 500 independent properties in 70 countries.
