UK: Brightstar Hospitality has acquired The Villare Hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon for an undisclosed sum, taking the group’s portfolio to 13.

The 76-bedroom hotel was formerly called The Grovesnor. It originally had 16 bedrooms wherein over the years, neighbouring properties were purchased and linked to the main hotel. After 1978, the final addition at 14 Warwick Road was bought.

Under the new ownership, the property will be renovated and rebranded back to its original name.

Clive Nicholls, chairman of Brightstar Hospitality, said: “We have had this hotel in our sights for a considerable time and are looking forward to welcoming guests from all over the world to showcase the best of hospitality in Stratford-upon-Avon. Our intention is to upgrade the hotel, bring back its original name and take it back to its glory days.”

CEO of Brightstar, Nikhil Gupta, added: “The Villare Hotel is an extraordinary hotel. We are absolutely delighted to be welcoming this hotel to our collection. Its location in such a popular part of the UK makes it perfect for all travellers.”

Based in Peterborough, Brightstar Hospitality is an independent hotel management company. The group aims to expand across the country and has additional acquisitions in the pipeline.
