US: “Affordable luxury” lifestyle brand citizenM has revealed three hotel openings in the US next year, taking the group’s total to 36 properties.
citizenM Austin Downtown is scheduled to open in Q1 2024. Developed in partnership with Turnbridge Equities, the 17-storey tower will house a 344-room hotel, a rooftop pool and bar area, along with a 24/7 canteenM and a gym.
Amsterdam-based design firm concrete will oversee the interiors. Artist PONI (Hilda Palafox) and Calhan Hale have been commissioned for a rooftop mural and exterior artwork respectively.
In the centre of the Back Bay neighbourhood in Boston, citizenM will open its second hotel in the city and the largest in the portfolio. The 399-room hotel is set to launch in summer next year, joining a mixed-use development which features a life science and office building and a retail-lined, two-tired public plaza.
Amenities at citizenM Boston Back Bay include a living room, societyM meeting rooms, a 24/7 canteenM, a gym, and a rooftop bar and terrace. It has been co-developed with Samuels & Associates and local architect Elkus Manfredi.
Also opening in summer 2024 is citizenM Miami South Beach, the third location in Miami for the brand. The 168-room hotel will offer a rooftop pool and bar, a 24/7 canteenM and a gym. Architecture firm Gensler has collaborated with citizenM on the site.
Following the openings next year, 2025 and beyond will see citizenM add several more properties to its portfolio including a first in Dublin, two new locations in London, and a hotel in Washington DC Georgetown. The company is currently seeking new development opportunities in cities across North America and Europe.
