US: DKN Hotels, a Southern California hotel management company, has announced that The Pierpont Inn in Ventura will operate as an independent hotel as of January 5, 2020.
The decision to move away from the Wyndham Garden brand is an outgrowth of DKN’s desire to provide a more “authentic Ventura experience” for its guests, and a “hotel stay distinguished by history, charm, warmth, and the purest elements of local flavour”.
The Pierpont Inn was built in 1910, and features 81 guest rooms, cottages and suites. It is home to Austen’s Restaurant – the oldest operating restaurant in Ventura County.
“The Pierpont Inn is foundational to the city of Ventura and an essential part of its very rich history,” said Ana Almada, vice president of operations at DKN Hotels. “We want our guests to feel more connected to the community and the century of memories that have been made here. We felt this could best be accomplished with the removal of the current Wyndham flat, and we are very excited to return to the purity of The Pierpont Inn as its own brand”.
DKN Hotels will continue to own and operate the property.
Founded in 1984 by the Dahya family, DKN Hotels currently operates a portfolio of owned and third-party managed Hilton, Marriott, IHG, and independent properties throughout the greater Southern California area.
