Dörr Hotel offers guest experience team

US: The Dörr in Wisconsin’s Door County has introduced a dedicated guest experience team, who will curate itineraries that explore the Wisconsin peninsula.

With a combined total of more than 50 years of Door County residence, each host will serve as a local area ambassador. Each team member has participated in Destination Door County’s Certified Tourism Ambassador program as training, which involved pre-class reading, a half day classroom session and completing an open book examination.

Yvonne Torres, director of administration for Destination Door County, said: “We’re delighted that The Dörr is embracing the program and helping guests navigate the abundance of opportunities in the Peninsula.”

The Dörr’s guest experience team will assist guests with a variety of activities, including:

· Mushroom foraging

· Dark Skies Discovery Tour in Newport State Park 

· Private nature hikes with an area naturalist in one of their area’s five State Parks

· Lighthouse and ice photography expeditions

· Painting, pottery, and glass blowing classes

· Golfing at one of nine area golf courses

· E-bike touring

· Shipwreck scuba diving and snorkelling excursions

· Sea cave kayaking

· Walleye, Bass and Salmon fishing charters

· Peninsula sailing

· Bird watching expeditions

· Art gallery and studio visits

· Private wine tasting tour at seven area wineries

· Private wellness sessions (yoga, cooking class, health and wellness coaching)

· Tickets to Peninsula Players and Northern Sky Outdoor Theatre performances

· Restaurant recommendations and reservations

Director of guest experience at The Dörr Hotel, James Lohmiller said: “Our seven guest experience hosts will provide a service that goes beyond the typical hotel concierge role. We want to provide a truly personal Door County experience and we have selected a team of passionate professionals who love the area and want to make each guest’s stay as memorable as possible.

The Dörr Hotel is a new build hotel featuring 47 rooms and suites scheduled to open in May 2021. It is now taking reservations.
