Downtown Indianapolis to get boutique hotel

US: The Alexander, a new-build hotel and serviced apartment property is set to open in the CityWay neighbourhood.

Named after Alexander Ralston, Indianapolis’ architect and city planner during the early 1800s, the property will be Indiana’s first LEED-certified hotel.

It will have 209 rooms, including 52 extended-stay suites aimed atbusiness travelers and small families, a fitness centre, and two restaurants: Market Dining and Plat99.

There will be a strong focus on art, with installations designed by LA-based Jorge Pardo, a MacArthur Foundation fellow. A partnership with the Indianapolis Art Museum will see 40 works by 20 artists displayed throughout the hotel.

The Alexander will be managed by Dolce Hotels & Resorts, which has properties in Napa Valley (Silverado Resort & Spa), Las Vegas (Ravella at Lake Las Vegas), and Provence, France (Dolce Frégate Provence), among its 27-strong portfolio.
