Draycott Hotel unveils green screen studio

UK: Mantis hotel group has partnered with Bench, a conference and virtual events company, to create The Studio at the Draycott in Chelsea, London.

The Draycott Hotel by Mantis has transformed one of its Edwardian hotel suites into a digital studio that features a green screen and green screen vinyl flooring, LED video lights, video camera with tripod, a live viewing monitor, microphones, mixing desk, and more.

The content produced in the studio can be pre-recorded for boardcast at a later date, or live streamed to video conferencing platforms.

It has been created to allow professionals run virtual events including meetings, webinars, award ceremonies and product launches to a global audience.

The studio is currently available to book from 17 May in line with the UK government’s recovery roadmap. The Draycott Hotel is scheduled to reopen 1 July.

Paul Gardiner, CEO of the Mantis group, said: “It was essential for us to transform one of the suites at the Draycott Hotel and work with an experienced partner to create an innovative digital space. Although stepping into the Draycott feels like your being transported to a bygone era, which is part of its charm, the newly available green screen and broadcasting facility ensures the hotel offers a professional, safe environment to meet the remote communication, production and virtual engagement needs of today’s event planners. The studio is a permanent fixture, we welcome local businesses and are ready for the reopening of London’s MICE industry.”

Jonathan Worsley, chairman at Bench, added: “The Studio is an ideal opportunity for those who want to present at a virtual meeting or conference but require a higher level of production than from their home or office. The flexibility of the studio has also enabled young musicians prepare short, pre-recorded music showcases, it is a truly versatile space for multiple sectors.”

In addition to the studio, the hotel has one event space which can accommodate up to 10 delegates.

The Draycott Hotel by Mantis is housed in a restored redbrick Edwardian townhouse and comprises 35 bedrooms. It is located close to Sloane Square and Chelsea’s Kings Road.
