UK: The owners of the Carlton George hotel in Glasgow are planning to add two floors to the building.
The 64-room boutique hotel, on West George Street, is owned by Carlton Hotels (UK). Its planned extension would add an extra 20 guest rooms to the hotel, which is currently seven-storeys tall.
An application has been submitted to the council’s planning department. Carlton Hotels said the expansion is necessary due to high demand and occupancy levels in excess of 80 per cent.
If backed by elected members, an existing rooftop plant room would be moved to the tenth floor.
