UK: The Cumbrian Gilsland Hall Hotel has come under new ownership and will be operated by Monday Hospitality Group’s new brand Black Book Hotels.

Gilsland Hall hotel came to market in September 2019 with an asking price of £1.55 million. Stratsmore Holdings has recently purchased the site.

In autumn this year, the current three-star hotel will undergo a full renovation. Its 60 en suite bedrooms will be transformed into luxury suites and family rooms with patios.

Facilities will include dining venues, wedding and event space, an in-house screening room and a spa.

The hotel will remain open during the summer before closing for the planned works. It will reopen in spring 2022.

Sitting on 140 acres of garden and woodland, Gilsland Hall is close to UNESCO World Heritage sites along Hadrian’s Wall.
