Ireland: Fresh off an award win in the Irish Independent Travel awards, Hayfield Manor announced that they have become a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts.
Preferred Hotels & Resorts (PHR) is the world’s largest independent hotel brand, representing over 750 unique hotels, resorts, residences and groups across the globe. Hayfield Manor is also becoming a part of the brand’s Legend Collection, their premiere tier of offerings.
Hayfield family collection CEO Etienne Van Vrede said: “We are delighted to be selected for the brands flagship Legend Brand and to feature in such an exclusive global collection of hotels. ”
“Preferred is a leading global brand that will bring many new international guests to our wonderful destination of Cork.”
The manor is a refurbished manor from the early 19th century, which was refurbished to become Cork’s first five-star hotel in 1995. The hotel contains both original features and replicas, primarily a replica of the original staircase.
Visitors can expect modern amenities such as award winning restaurants, bar facilities, fitness facilities and a business centre.
Brenda Collin, managing director for PHR, said of the acquisition: “We are delighted to welcome the renowned Hayfield Manor to Preferred’s Legend Collection and to have an exceptional Preferred property in the popular destination of Cork in South West Ireland.”
“This news is especially welcome as Hayfield Manor’s sister property Great Southern Killarney joined the Preferred brand also six months ago.”
Ireland is a major site for boutique hotel investment, with Cork seeing a new hotel in its centre last November.
