UK: Luxury hotel in the Scottish Highlands, Kincraig Castle, has been sold by Graham + Sibbald to Ruchir Gupta of Siya Properties.

Since the 17th century, Kincraig Castle has been home to generations of the Mackenzie Clan. It sits on 10 acres of land and now offers 15 bedrooms, a resident’s lounge and reading room, the Alexander Restaurant, a function suite for up to 60 people, a bar and commercial kitchen.

The property has been extended over the years with a mixture of extensions to the rear over one and two storeys. The accommodation is set across three principal floors.

Ray and Amy Grant have owned Kincraig Castle for nine years. It marks the first Scottish acquisition for new owner Gupta, joining the Falcon Hotel in Farnborough.

Graham + Sibbald invited offers of around £1.8 million for the property.

Peter Seymour, director within the hotel and leisure department at Graham + Sibbald, said: “We launched this campaign a few months before Covid reached the UK. The campaign was affected by the lockdowns and buyers’ inability to travel, but we constantly had worldwide interest in the disposal and achieved a price in line with our pre-covid expectations.

“We are delighted that an experienced operator saw the potential of the hotel and we wish Ruchir Gupta every success in the future.”
