UK: The Swan, located in Newby Bridge, has secured investment backed by CBRE Global Investors to transform the renowned hotel into a world-class luxury spa resort by summer 2021.
The investment from BH Group will fund plans to extend the property, with the new build housing 30 additional bedrooms and suites. Interiors will be designed by Fiona Parks of Johnstone Park Interiors.
The investment will also support a luxury spa development, which will include a hydrotherapy pool, thermal rooms, relaxation areas, treatment rooms and a cafe.
20 full-time and part-time jobs will be created, and The Swan is planning to launch an apprenticeship programme too.
Managing director of The Swan, Sarah Gibbs, said: “We can’t wait for the renovations to get under way, we have some incredible plans and I think guests are going to be blown away when we get to reveal it all next year. The Lake District is already one of the most popular destinations in the UK and there’s definitely a growing market for a luxury spa resort here, and we’re more than happy to be the ones that can offer this! We have a fantastic team here and we are excited to grow it alongside these developments.”
