Ireland: Grace’s Bar, on Market Square in Kildare, is due to be sold at auction with a guide price of $380,000.
The property will be sold at auction in the Keadeen Hotel on November 27 at 3pm.
The three-storey, 6,471 square-foot property is in need of complete refurbishment.
The ground floor comprises a bar, lounges, an office, store room, toilets and kitchen. The first floor has three rooms whereas the second floor has one, and the rear of the property features a courtyard and smoking area.
It operated as a popular meeting place and stop-off point for motorists when the Dublin road passed through town, however it closed around five years ago.
John Conway of Conway’s Auctioneers in Naas said: “There is a lack of bed spaces in the Kildare town area and one option is it could be converted into a centrally-located boutique hotel. Kildare’s population has increased to just 9,000 with many new residential developments, and this population will continue to expand int the coming years”.
