Life House appointed operators of Vermont hotel

The Shire Woodstock

US: Following the acquisition of The Shire Woodstock by Turnstone Ventures, Life House has been appointed as operators of the property marking the group’s entry into Vermont.

The 50-key Shire Woodstock hotel is located on the banks of the Ottauquechee River. It was originally built in 1963 and will continue to operate under its existing branding before being reimagined.

Turnstone Ventures is a real estate investment firm led by developer Jeff Glew. The transaction was marketed by Earle Wason and Joe Cardillo of Wason & Associates.

Glew said: “We are honoured for the opportunity to steward The Shire Woodstock, one of the most prominent assets in the high-barrier-to-entry town of Woodstock. We look forward to working with Life House on a restoration project that will honour the property’s history while enhancing the experience for future visitors to Southern Vermont.”

Bryan Dunn, managing director of Life House, said: “We are thrilled to announce Life House’s first project in Southern Vermont. We believe the Green Mountains region is underserved by sophisticated independent hotel operators and look forward to expanding our presence to include additional unique and historic properties.”

The Shire Woodstock is the twentieth hotel that Life House will manage in New England.

Life House has recently raised $60 million in Series C funding to sell its property management software to independent hotels.
