Luxury Family Hotels unveils summer pop-ups

UK: In preparation for the summer and the anticipated post-lockdown staycation, Luxury Family Hotels have announced a series of pop-ups at its properties from Cornwall to Suffolk.

From the planned reopening of hotels on Monday 17 May, Luxury Family Hotels will host outdoor pop-ups across four hotels in its collection, including Moonfleet Manor (Dorset), The Ickworth (Suffolk), New Park Manor (New Forest), and Fowey Hall (Cornwall).

Moonfleet Manor, Jurassic Coast, Dorset

Whilst the hotel has been closed, the hotel team have refurbished its lounges, restaurant, cinema and other communal areas. Opening on May 28th in the hotel garden, a pop up pizzeria will serve freshly made pizza using local Dorset ingredients, as well as those sourced from the hotel’s own kitchen garden. Beers and ales will also be served, as well as ice-creams from luxury Dorset ice-cream maker Purbeck.

In July, Moonfleet will also launch its first ever Tennis Academy. Offering complimentary and supervised tennis coaching sessions for children aged six-15, the Academy will run from 10 July to 5 September. Private tennis lessons will also be available.

The Ickworth, Suffolk

This July, the hotel is partnering with Perrier-Jouët to open a branded cocktail bar in the hotel’s walled garden. Trading from noon until 10pm daily, the bar will feature a number of live music sessions at the weekend, with lunch, afternoon tea and a small plates menu also available.

New Park Manor, New Forest

In addition to offering biking and nature walks, New Park Manor will host an English sparking wine bar in collaboration with Hambledon Vineyard, situated a short drive away from the hotel.

Aside from serving classic sparking wines, a selection of light bites – paired by the team at Hambledon and New Park Manor – will also be available throughout the day. Running from July and throughout August, the bar will open from lunchtime till 8:30pm.

New Park Manor’s OFSTED-registered Den team will also be planning a range of family activities including den building and leaf printing.

Fowey Hall, Fowey, Cornwall

The hotel will launch a bi-weekly market, starting 30 May and running every other Sunday morning between 9:30am-12:30pm. It will feature food and beverage stalls as well as craft and community initiatives, and will run throughout the summer.

Partnering with Fames to Feed Us, an organisation that connects small-scale farmers with consumers, the market will offer guests the chance to support local producers and artists that share the hotel’s vision for sustainable produce.

After the market has finished, local musicians will be given a platform to perform on the hotel’s terrace between 4:30pm-6pm. A new children’s play area is also set to debut.

Simon Maguire, managing director at Luxury Family Hotels, said: “Families had a really challenging time last year and this third lockdown has been  particularly tough on lots of levels. We know from conversations we are having  on a daily basis with our guests that families are eagerly anticipating an escape  from their daily routine and literally cannot wait to have the chance to kick back  and relax, stay in a hotel in a beautiful location, be wined and dined, and enjoy  some fun together as well as some long overdue ‘me’ time. As a result, we are  delighted to make the first announcement of what we have planned for Luxury Family Hotels’ Great British staycation this spring and summer.”
