US: The Manger Building in Savannah will be transformed into the Recess Hotel & Club by real estate development and design firm LEFT LANE.

Located at 7 E. Congress Street in Savannah, Georgia, the Manger Building has most recently served as office space. LEFT LANE will restore the site to its original hotel use in collaboration with Atelior Pond.

Scheduled to open in early 2026, the Recess Hotel & Club will feature 136 guest rooms, 23 suites, and 62 bunk rooms. A Rumpus Room – communal spaces with a lounge, TVs and vending machine – will be located on each floor.

Elsewhere, amenities include four F&B venues, coworking spaces, a rooftop pool and bar, a two-storey event space, and more.

LEFT LANE will also introduce its wellness brand Saltgrass to the property. The spa and fitness space will offer self-guided circuits, biohacking lounges, and group fitness classes, as well as a sound temple, steam room, and cold plunge pool.

Jon Kully, managing partner at Left Lane, said: “We are driven by a commitment to the community and each of our hotel’s respective histories, striving to deliver nostalgic, layered spaces that inspire exploration and offer an authentic sense of place. We’re building Recess as a magnetic cultural hub where the local community and travellers can create and find real-life connection in their very own clubhouse.”

News of the Recess Hotel & Club follows the debut of Hotel Bardo, also located in Savannah, earlier this year.
