US: New York-based real estate development company LEFT LANE has acquired The Mansion on Forsyth Park for $52.5 million.

Formerly part of The Kessler Collection, the Mansion on Forsyth Park, located in Savannah, will undergo and multi-million dollar renovation and expansion, transforming into an urban resort.

When complete, it will offer 149 guest rooms, a new restaurant concept inside the original mansion, a club bar and lounge, pool restaurant and bar, lobby bar, event spaces, a spa, retail and more. The cooking school will remain operational in the new property.

Jon Kully, managing partner at LEFT LANE, said: “The Mansion on Forsyth Park is one of Savannah’s most treasured and historic hotels and LEFT LANE is committed to community engagement through placemaking and adaptive reuse of iconic historic properties. We specialise in the acquisition and transformation of hotels that share a common thread of textured histories and progressive cultural landscapes and look forward to honouring the property’s rich past while bringing new experiences to the dynamic city of Savannah.”

LEFT LANE plans to acquire, convert or develop $1.5 billion in projects over the next five years in US secondary markets such as Memphis, Durham and Charleston. Other notable hotels which LEFT LANE has worked with include The Perry Lane Hotel (Savannah) and Hutton Hotel (Nashville).
