UK: Maven Capital Partners has submitted revised plans to convert a grade II-listed property into a boutique hotel.
The Old Shire Hall at Old Elve was built in 1896 and has been empty since former tenant Durham University vacated the building in 2012.
Proposals were approved in late 2015 to transform the property into an 81-room Hotel Indigo, with an MPW Steakhouse Bar & Grill.
Maven has now submitted revised plans to Durham County Council with a revised internal layout.
Ramsay Duff, investment director at Maven Capital Partners, said: “We’ve slightly changed the layout in terms of where the public areas are. These new plans reflect the final settled design. There are no major changes; it’s just a case of moving things around and deciding what’s going where. We’ll still have the signature restaurant, bistro and coffee shop. It’s our final application. We expect it’ll be the final ingredient before we get things going.”
Maven acquired Shire Hall for £15 million in April 2016.
