US: A 33-guestroom boutique hotel is the latest to open at the East Hampton resort of Montauk.
A renovation of the former Ronjo Resort Motel, the Montauk Beach House, also features a beach club as well as a hotel.
Its 33 rooms have views of either the pool or the town, while a few offer glimpses of the ocean – the beach is 200 yards away. They feature luxury linens, upmarket amenities and flat-screen TVs, with accent pieces in each to complement the neutral interior design palette.
The pool area will feature sunset acoustic music throughout the summer, while surfing, paddle-boarding and fishing excursions are available. Weekend yoga is complimentary.
British-born co-owner Chris Jones, also a partner at the Sole East hotel-restaurant in Montauk, said: “We tested every little detail, right down to the lavender and lemon-scented Gilchrist & Soames toiletries”.
The hotel doesn’t have a restaurant but sells lobster rolls, coffee and light breakfast items from the nearby Montauk Bake Shoppe.
