USA: Moxy’s bold new property launches in the heart of NYC.
Moxy Times Square has launched in Midtown Manhattan.
The hotel houses 612 bedrooms and over 22,000 square feet of flexible event space. The guest rooms range in size between150 to 350 square feet and feature versatile modern design.
Privately held US real estate company Lightstone developed the hotel. It has five other Moxy properties planned for New York City, Miami, and Los Angeles.
The opening marks the culmination of a bold new partnership of collaborators: Yabu Pushelberg for the design of the bedrooms and public spaces, TAO Group to coordinate the food and beverage program, Rockwell Group to plan restaurant and bar spaces, and New Stand to run retail operations.
Developers wanted to push the boat out, creating a fun and modern hotel that stood out in the crowded Manhattan hotel landscape. The hotel features co-working spaces, a “Moxy Digital Guestbook” that streams images and videos produced by tech-savvy guests, and an eclectic programme of guest DJs and other performers and artists.
Toni Stoeckl, Global Brand Leader and Vice President, Marriott International’s Distinctive Select Brands said: “Moxy pushes the envelope, so we tossed out the rulebook. Together with Lightstone, we set out to create a new paradigm within the New York hotel scene by bringing together the best-in-class in design, food & beverage and retail and giving them the freedom to allow their imaginations to run wild. The result has been a hotel experience like no other – fun, edgy, playful, and all at a killer price.”
The opening of Moxy Times Square marks the brand’s 15th hotel opening.
