New Zealand: Singapore-based private hospitality label Naumi Hotels has announced the opening of three new boutique hotels in New Zealand.
The Central by Naumi and The Dairy, both in Queenstown, as well as Naumi Studio Hotel Wellington are joining the company’s other kiwi acquisition, Naumi Auckland.
Each aims to provide a diverse set of potential experiences for the marketplace. While The Dairy and the Central are more design-led, Naumi Studio Hotel represents a creative re-imagining of a historic listed property.
Gaurang Jhunjhnuwala, CEO, Naumi Australia and New Zealand, said: “We say to expect the unexpected with all of our hotel designs and this most definitely applies to our three new openings in Queenstown and Wellington. We’ve taken three very different buildings and crafted a completely new hospitality offering for both iconic cities. Each property has its own story and its distinct vibe, with Naumi’s signature playful approach woven throughout. We are currently treating New Zealanders to escapist staycation breaks and look forward to New Zealand’s borders being safely open to international travel once again so we can welcome our guests from around the world.”
The Central’s design aesthetic emphasises a sense of whimsy, using the prior site to play with exaggerated scale and sensory distortion. The Dairy, however, emphasises its picturesque views of The Remarkables mountain range and Lake Wakatipu.
Most notably is Naumi Studio Wellington, situated in a landmark Edwardian-era building on Cuba Street. The property now features literary-inspired décor and is situated in a lively modern neighbourhood.
