Spain: The 259-key hotel has opened in the Catalan neighbourhood of Eixample.
Nobu Hotel Barcelona is located close to the Plaza de España and Barcelona’s famous strip, La Rambla.
Its Japanese-inspired interiors have been designed by the Rockwell Group and features Kintsugi – a method of repairing pottery with lacquer mixed with precious metals to create different collages and textures.
Décor is paired with artwork inspired by Catalonia’s maestro, Gaudi.
The hotel is also home to the city’s first Nobu restaurant – Nobu Barcelona – which is situated on the 23rd floor. The restaurant serves Black Miso Cod, along with Spanish influenced flavours.
The Nobu dining menu can also be enjoyed by guests in-room.
In the lobby, a secondary dining spot called Kozara serves Japanese inspired Catalan tapas. A selection of cocktails, sakes, and whiskeys can be paired with dishes.
Coming soon to the hotel is a wellness centre complete with a gym and spa, a Kozara terrace for alfresco dining, as well as an auditorium and café.
Nobu Hotel Barcelona is the fourth European and third Spanish property from the brand, and will work in partnership with the Spanish hospitality group Selenta, owned by Jordi Mestre.
