UK: Following a full redesign, the Oak Bank Hotel in the Lake Dristrict’s Grasmere village, will reopen in February.
The three-storey property now houses 19 bedrooms and open-plan communal spaces.
It was bought late last year for £1.5 million on a freehold basis by Serena Von Der Heyde, the hotelier behind London’s Georgian House Hotel.
Speaking at the time of sale, Von Der Heyde said: “I am very excited to be taking on a business in Grasmere, an incredible guest destination that provides many opportunities for adventurers, food fanatics and those who just want to relax and recharge in stunning surroundings”.
Previous owners, Glynis and Simon Wood, operated the Oak Bank Hotel for 12 years. During this time, they achieved a three-star accreditation with two AA Rosettes, a Michelin plate, and an entry in The Good Hotel Guide.
