Japan: The Prince Park Tower Tokyo, the newest member of the Preferred Hotels & Resorts L.V.X. Collection, has announced the completion of its $22.5 million redesign project.

The Hong-Kong based luxury design renovation firm, AB Concept, has overseen the comprehensive makeover of the 33-floor high rise hotel, which included refurbishing 590 of its 603 guestrooms and the Premium Club Lounge, which was inspired by the property’s location in Minato Ward’s Shiba Park.

In addition, the lobby has been revamped to welcome guests with ‘Forest Greeting’, a new piece of artwork by acclaimed nature artist Hirotoshi Sawada. The work features hundreds of small hanging mirrors and acts as a contemporary chandelier to illuminate the entrance.

A boutique gift shop has been added to showcase exclusive chocolates and sweets by renowned Executive Pastry Chef Takeshi Naito and a curated wine collection assembled by the hotel’s Sommelier, Yoshiaki Ichimura.

AB Concept concentrated on redesigning the property’s Premium Club guestrooms to replicate Tokyo’s Shiba Park by introducing an earth tone colour scheme called ‘A Part of the Park’, which incorporates wood flooring and hanging chairs to emulate the outdoors.

The Panoramic guestrooms, meanwhile, have been renovated with enhanced furniture, carpeting, and a light blue colour palette while the desks and beds have been repositioned to show off the spectacular views of the park’s foliage and the city’s most iconic landmarks like the Tokyo Tower and Zojoji Temple.

The Premium Club Lounge, which is available exclusively to guests staying on the Royal and Premium Club floors, has been expanded to offer better views, upgraded food and drinks services and facilities such as conference rooms for business meetings as needed, an onsite natural hot spring spa and fitness facility, bowling alley, indoor pool, 11 on-site restaurants and a bakery.

General Manager Manabu Ishikawa said: “With Tokyo in the midst of a major hotel revitalization, The Prince Park Tower Tokyo’s newly refurbished rooms and facilities are well-timed to serve the massive influx of international tourism expected in the coming years, and echo the overall renewal of the area.”

“These sensory-rich upgrades along with our exceptional location make it very easy to combine business with pleasure, and we look forward to greeting even more guests from around the world,” added Ishikawa.

Those improvements along with the hotel’s existing facilities have secured the property’s membership within the prestigious Preferred Hotels & Resorts L.V.X. Collection, which represents a number of luxury properties across its five global collections – Legend, L.V.X., Lifestyle, Connect and Preferred Residences.

All Prince Park Tower Tokyo registered guests can enroll in the I Prefer hotel rewards program, which provides special benefits such as complimentary Internet for members who stay at more than 650 participating Preferred Hotels & Resorts locations worldwide.
