QHotels Group plans £16m refurb for Leeds property

UK: The Queens Hotel located in Leeds city centre is to undergo a £16 million renovation which will be unveiled by summer 2021, including bedrooms, public areas and F&B.

Building work is already underway at the hotel, which will see an additional 16 rooms added and bringing the total room count to 232. Interior designers Upperworth Studios and Iliard Design are overseeing the renovation.

A social hub will transform the ground floor to offer several communal areas catering to social and working needs.

The F&B offering will undergo a complete transformation. Specific details are to be announced closer to the opening and will incorporate a wine bar, outdoor terrace, coffee space and central restaurant.

Richard Moore, group chief executive of The QHotels Group, said: “It’s a real pleasure to be part of such an exciting project for the group and the city of Leeds. The Queens Hotel, Leeds, is a special place, with fond memories for many who have visited or stayed at the hotel. It therefore provides a wonderful contrast of positivity for everyone at such challenging times. We’re very fortunate to have supportive shareholders who, despite the current economic conditions, remain passionate and continue to share our vision for the hotel. We are excited about the project ahead of us and can’t wait to share the next chapter of our exciting journey.”
