US: Investment manager Bentley Legacy Holdings (BLH), through its partnership with Pendant Capital, has acquired The Raphael Hotel, Autograph Collection, located in Kansas City.

Bentley Legacy Group, the management arm of BLH, has immediately assumed management of the property. The company will oversee a refresh of the hotel’s guest rooms and public spaces.

Originally built in 1927 as apartments, the site was eventually transformed in 1975 into a hotel. It features 126 rooms, the on-site American restaurant Chaz on the Plaza, a fitness centre, and two event rooms.

“We are proud to own and operate The Raphael Hotel and bring our longstanding hospitality expertise to Kansas City and this iconic destination,” said Les Bentley, CEO of Bentley Legacy Holdings. “We are eager to provide the hotel with a guest room refresh, as well as renewed attention to the public spaces, infusing thoughtful updates into each moment of a guest’s time with us, while still preserving The Raphael’s rich history and charm. Visiting The Raphael will continue to be a special experience for travellers and locals alike, who love the historic hotel and consider a sought-after dining experience.”

Bentley Legacy Holdings was founded in 2013 and oversees a diverse portfolio of restaurants as well as branded, independent lifestyle and luxury hotels. Properties within its portfolio include Senza Hotel (Napa, California), La Fonda on the Plaza (Santa Fe, New Mexico), Canopy by Hilton Dallas Uptown, and more.

Pendant Capital is a hospitality-focused sponsorship fund, founded by Bentley and David Capps in 2022.
