UK: The Sands Hotel, a 20-room boutique property on the Kent coast, is set to open in summer 2013.
The hotel, which will have a 60 cover restaurant is located on the Kent resort’s seafront, within 200 metres of the Turner Contemporary gallery.
It is set in a formerly derelict renovated Victorian building, and has been created by Conrad Bigham, a hotel real estate specialist, and Nick Conington, a former City investment professional.
Bigham said: “In recent years, Margate has been undergoing significant regeneration, including the development of the hugely popular Turner Contemporary, improvements to rail links to London and investment in the creative quarter in the Old Town. The Sands will not only seek to meet some of the widely recognised demand for quality hotel accommodation in the town but also aim to become the hotel and restaurant destination of choice in East Kent. We shall soon be kickstarting our recruitment programme and looking for people who, above all, are highly motivated, professional and guest orientated.”
