Six additions to Small Luxury Hotels of the World

UK: Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) has introduced six new members to its collection of independent, boutique hotels.

SLH has personally visited, vetted and verified over 500 hotels in more than 80 countries. Listed below are its latest additions:

Le Coucou Méribel (Méribel, France)

Owned by the Parient family and opening 12 December, Le Coucou Méribel is situated at the foot of the Rond-Point des Piste – a ski-in, ski-out, 55-room hotel overlooking the valley. Spread over 12,000 square meters, the hotel offers traditional chalet styling and a Kids Club and Teens Lab designed by Sophie Jacquemin, a specialist in captivating children.

Hidden Hills Villas (Uluwatu, Bali)

Located in the hills of Uluwatu, the resort comprises seven villas (from one to five bedrooms) that each take inspiration from different cultures around the world. There are no common areas, no restaurant, and no loungers lining the pool – chefs will cook meals in the villas, and a personal butler will serve breakfast or a mixologist-made cocktail whenever and wherever the guest fancies.

Arima Hotel (San Sebastián, Spain)

Embracing a green ecology, the 69-key Arima Hotel relies on clean energy systems, sulphate-free toiletries, and serves a locally-sourced vegetarian menu at the hotel’s restaurant, Misura. 77 per cent of Arima’s energy needs are fulfilled from aerothermal and geothermal power.

Muh Shoou XiXi Hotel (Hangzhou, China)

In the southwest part of Xixi National Wetland Park, the 43-bedroom hotel is owned and designed by GOA Architects. Sustainable resources such as recycled wood, rusted steel and water-faced marble are incorporated into the design, and its restaurant advocates organic and locally cultivated food and ingredients.

Great Fosters (Berkshire, UK)

Set within 50 acres of landscaped gardens and parkland, Great Fosters is a sixteenth-century royal hunting lodge close to Windsor. The property includes 42 guestrooms, a Michelin-star and four AA Rosette restaurant, The Tudor Room, as well as the hotel’s own Great Fosters’ Gin.

Ovolo Central (Mid-Levels, Hong Kong)

A designer hotel in the centre of Hong Kong’s Central Business District, Ovolo Central features 41 rooms and showcases the city’s first vegetarian hotel restaurant, VEDA, spearheaded by celebrity vegetarian chef Hetty McKinnon.
