Scotland: The Torridon in Wester Ross joins 65 other hotels in the British Isles to have been awarded the prestigious rating.
Selected by The AA for its “outstanding levels of service and hospitality,” The Torridon is one of seven new hotels to receive the accolade in 2019.
Co-owner, Dan Rose-Bristow, commented: “My wife Rohaise and I have a real sense of pride that bespoke training for staff and efforts to establish The Torridon culture have been recognised by the AA. The award is a testament to the team’s dedication to deliver curated experiences that will create amazing memories.”
“Our focus on quality and training together with extensive refurbishment has allowed us to improve our facilities and standards so that we can continue to exceed our customer expectations,” he added.
Located at the head of a sea loch, The Torridon hotel is a former Victorian shooting lodge comprising 18 individually designed rooms.
Recent additions include six eco-friendly staff accommodation flats which use biomass heating and mechanical heat recovery ventilation.
Its own handcrafted gin, Arcturus, received one star at the Great Taste Awards 2019, prior to the opening of a new Gin Garden in August, which features a star-shaped pool, pergola, and 1,500 herbaceous plants.
Set within The Torridon Resort, other amenities include the three AA Rosette restaurant, 1887, a Whisky & Gin Bar serving 365 malts and over 120 gins, the Torridon Inn with spacious rooms and a pub, a private, self-catering Boat House, a two-acre Kitchen Garden, and an activities team Torridon Outdoors.
