Thompson Hotels unveils South Beach project

US: Two Roads Hospitality and Finvarb Group have announced plans for a property in Miami’s South Beach.

Two Roads Hospitality has announced the development of its newest property in Miami Beach, Florida, as part of the Thompson Hotels brand.  The project marks the return of Thompson Hotels to the area, and will be one of the few new-build properties in the core of the South Beach district.

Projected to open in 2020, Thompson South Beach will be conceptualised by French architect Rudy Ricciotti.  Developed and owned by Miami-based Finvarb Group, the hotel will include 150 guestrooms with floor-to-ceiling windows, and a rooftop pool, restaurant and bar.  The ground-level and rooftop restaurants and bars will feature “seasonally-inspired plates and robust cocktail programs”.

“Positioned within South Beach’s flourishing cultural epicenter overlooking the urban oasis of SoundScape Park, Thompson Hotels is primed for reintroduction into the Miami market,” said Jamie Sabatier, CEO of Two Roads Hospitality. “We are thrilled to bring the brand back to such a dynamic destination and look forward to welcoming our guests to the area’s thriving arts attractions just outside our doors.”

Thompson South Beach will occupy a central location on the south-east corner of 17th Street and Washington Avenue, adjacent to the Frank Gehry-designed New World Center and newly renovated and expanded Miami Beach Convention Center.
