UK: Luxury lifestyle brand Virgin Hotels has opened its second hotel Scotland, located in Glasgow.
Marking the second hotel in Europe for group as well as the second property in Scotland, Virgin Hotels Glasgow has launched on the banks of River Clyde. It joins Virgin Hotels Edinburgh which opened last year.
Designed by Teddy Mayer, creative director and VP design at Virgin Hotels, and developed by Silk Property Group, the hotel features 240 rooms, two F&B venues, and several meeting and event spaces.
The flagship restaurant and bar Commons Club will be led by executive chef Jean-Paul Giraud. It will serve a modern, global menu prepared with locally sourced ingredients. Highyard, located on the mezzanine level of Commons Club, is a dining and entertainment venue fitted with two living walls and a retractable roof.
Additional F&B venues are to launch in the coming months, including Funny Library Coffee Shop and whiskey bar Rocks on Fox Street.
Rooms come equipped with ergonomic beds, Hypnos mattresses, a red SMEG mini fridge, a yoga mat, and a stand alone vanity unit with illuminated mirror. A wood sliding door separates the sleep and lounge area from the dressing room.
