Portugal: CBRE and tourism consultant neoturis have advised FVC Group on the selection of YOTEL as operator of a hotel located in the World Trade Centre Lisbon development.
The hotel will form part of the 70,000 square-metre World Trade Centre Lisbon project in Oeiras. It marks first YOTEL in the region and the second in Portugal for the group.
It will comprise 127 rooms, meeting facilities, a gym and a bar.
Giordano Nicoletti, head of operator selection, EMEA at CBRE, said “As momentum is gathering in the hotel sector, we are receiving increased interest from new and existing clients for professionally run operator selection processes in various locations across Europe, with an emphasis on Portugal and Spain.”
Duarte Morais Santos, head of hotels CBRE Portugal, said: “This deal is confirmation of the significant interest from international hotel chains for Portugal, especially those operating in mid-scale and lifestyle segments. We believe this trend is due to the low volume of established hotel chains combined with the growth of international companies.”
Rohan Thakkar, chief development officer for YOTEL, added: “We are delighted to have worked with CBRE and neoturis to sign a long-term management agreement with Foz Vintage, a group that defines its projects on innovation, the environment, and its people, the same values which we embrace at YOTEL.
“YOTEL Lisbon WTC will further our expansion strategy across Southern Europe, both within Portugal and nearby markets such as Spain and France.”
