The property was bought by Chicago developer Sterling Bay Cos. for $4 million last year.
Ace’s expected opening date in Chicago, room count and potential retail tenants in the building are as yet unknown.
Ace has hotels in Seattle, Portland, New York, London, Los Angeles and Palm Springs, California, and plans to open one in Pittsburgh next year. A related brand, called the American Trade Hotel, is in Panama City.
