Australia: Alpha Hotels & Resorts has opened the 51-room Alpha Mosaic Hotel in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley.

The newly-built property is five minutes from Brisbane‘s CBD and offers both hotel rooms and two bedroom apartments. It is located in an 18-story mixed-use development, along with 213 residential apartments and 10 retail outlets.

Jonathan Wooller, founder and managing partner of Alpha Hotels & Resorts said: “We wanted to create a boutique concept hotel that was both design-savvy and appealing to a cross-section of fast-paced business and leisure travellers. The hotel has been designed to embrace the eclectic character of Fortitude Valley, and maximise Brisbane’s year-round outdoor climate with balconies off all accommodation, an open-air oasis area off the lobby, and alfresco dining .”

Interiors and furnishings have been overseen by Cressida Kenney of Space Control who also designed Sydney’s 1888 Hotel.

Rooms and apartments feature king-sized beds, unique art, WiFi and interactive IPTV to deliver live customised on-demand content. Floor to ceiling glass doors open up to a private balcony with many offering views of the Brisbane cityscape.

It is the third property in the Alpha Hotels & Resorts portfolio, joining Alpha Canberra which opened in February and Alpha Hotel Eastern Creek in Sydney, which opened in March.
