Aman reveals Janu hotel brand

Worldwide: Following two years of research and development, Aman welcomes its sister brand Janu, launching in Montenegro, Saudi Arabia and Japan in 2022.

While Aman is synonymous with its Sanskrit translation ‘peace’, Janu stands for ‘soul’.

The newly launched brand will therefore differ from Aman, with more emphasis on social elements, connectedness and community.

Each Janu hotel will focus on space and light, with large guest rooms and a mix of dining, lounge and bar areas.

Opportunities to learn about the health benefits of low-temperature cooking, or that of fermentation, will be available in the hotel’s open kitchens through countertop displays and discussions.

Guests can also participate in group fitness and wellbeing classes, and have access to hydro and thermal facilities in the wellness space.

Aman chief executive, Vladislav Doronin, said: “The overlap between Aman and its sibling is mutually beneficial; together they offer a total solution for the fluctuating needs and desires of today’s global travel cognoscenti.”

“We saw a white space in the market, and we want to push the hotel industry into a new sphere. What with today’s modern fast-paced society, which has seen human connection and communication redefined by the digital world, we wanted to create a new hotel brand with a soul and with the aim of kickstarting human interaction again.”

Janu Montenegro will be the first hotel to incorporate the brand’s serviced residence concept.
