Ascend Collection adds Florida hotel and teams up with Bluegreen

US: Postcard Inn joins the Ascend Hotel Collection, which has teamed up with timeshare operator Bluegreen.

Postcard Inn has a “retro, 1950s, surfer-inspired style”. It is owned by an affiliate of Starwood Capital Group, and managed by Philadelphia-based Hersha Hospitality Management. The hotel has two gyms, snorkeling, parasailing, shuffleboard, volleyball, Ping Pong, a shady courtyard, picnic area, vintage photo booth, game room, billiard table, business center and a library.

Starwood expects Choice’s vast distribution channels to help increase awareness and drive occupancy at Postcard Inn, which combines a relaxing atmosphere with unique design elements for a fun and affordable hotel on one of America’s top beaches.”

Ascend Hotel Collection has more than 75 properties across the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, Europe and Costa Rica.

Ascend has also announced it will add 21 Bluegreen Vacation Club Resorts to its collection as part of “a multi-faceted strategic marketing alliance with Bluegreen Vacations and Bluegreen Resorts Management”.

The alliance with Bluegreen marks the first time Choice Hotels has entered into such a relationship with a timeshare company and makes Bluegreen Vacations the official vacation ownership provider for Choice Hotels.
