Ascend Hotel collection adds three new properties to portfolio

US: Ascend Hotel Collection, boutique brand of Choice Hotels, has announced the addition of 3 hotels to its portfolio.

The Shore Club Wisconsin, The Inn Hotel and The Penn Stroud are notable for being only a short drive away from major urban areas, drawing travellers looking to escape quarantine.

Each property emphasises a different nearby natural attraction site, from the lakefront to the mountainside. Each further delivers a set of high quality, refined amenities for travellers and tourists.

Dianne Taylor, head of brand, Ascend Hotel Collection, Choice Hotels, said: “Research shows that more than two-thirds of consumers miss traveling and can’t wait to hit the road again, and many people will take more trips by car as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. As the industry’s leading soft brand, Ascend Hotels specializes in making journeys memorable, whether guests are seeking a quick escape or a robust vacation.

In order to keep guests at ease, these new properties will be implementing Choice Hotels’ cleaning programme. The Commitment to Clean programme provides franchisees and employees with a wide variety of tools and new sets of practices to ensure each property stays fully sanitised and safe.

Mark Shalala, senior vice president of development, upscale brands, said: “The addition of these hotels to our Ascend Hotel Collection reaffirms that the road forward is paved with opportunity – both for guests ready to return to travel, and for the hotel owners who are ready to welcome them.”

Hotels are beginning to reopen worldwide. IHG has reopened 90 per cent of their global portfolio worldwide, while Rosewood Hotels and Resorts has revealed their reopening plan this week.
